Well I think so, the ones I have come across so far in my very new blogging career.

So I decided today to do a little thank you to one of the many people who have personally helped me and I might do this kind of thing again another time too.. who knows.. hey “I am Woman” I make things up as I go along and they ain’t a whole lot you can do about it is there? – that is not a challenge LOL

OK so a little background, I have a new blog I have been quietly working on, something completely different from this one, it’s called “World of Wellness” and will deal with all kinds of issues concerning our wellness and that of the planet we live on.

This morning I finally get down to do research for my latest article over there (which is now posted, called “Indecent Exposure, Toxins and our kids”) and in my meanderings around the internet I get totally sidetracked (I do that when I go shopping too, so be warned if you were thinking of inviting me along for some retail therapy!) and I ended up on this guys blog called “Creating an Awesome Home Business” – said guy is called Martin Malden **waves to Martin in case he is reading this** and in particular this most recent post of his “How to Create an Additional Income Stream

Yeah I know, how the heck do I get from researching toxic chemicals to Income Streams? Well I do not know, it just happened ok, even though I am a female I do reserve the right to not know what the hell is going on with us most of the time, just like the rest of you (probably men out there) although I may not swear to that in a court of law..

Anyway, I digress as usual, if you go read Martin’s great post you will later see my first comment to him, which will explain why it interested me and since leaving that comment Martin has emailed me with all kinds of wonderful advise and offers of help.. so I say again, Arn’t Bloggers just scrumptious people? and thank you Martin for the great article and consequent offer of help.

So if you are just starting out with your own home business then I suggest you jump on over to Martin’s place for lots of useful help, you will get a nice welcome.

And Martin, I have added you to my links lower down in the sidebar.

I found this great animation for “Big Brother” and had to then share the website it came from because there are some really great animations AND because it is a UK website, I like to help get more exposure for UK websites when I can.  By the way he has hundreds of different gifs, not just Big Brother gifs.

This is the Big Brother one and I love it, being a BB fan (quit chuckling in the back there please LOL).

BBFlag

These animations are all free but Dave Sutton (owner of website) does ask that if you use any of them that you kindly link back to his website which is “SevenoaksArt”

And you can see another of his works at my free Social Network called “The Success Network” which is one of those “Kilroy” types and it is taking the pee pee out of the admin of the site (which is of course me!).

And just in case you were wondering how I found the BB gif well it was not because I was looking for all things BB (honest) it was because Dave and I met via the PayPerPlay forum and I had to be nosey and go look at his website.. that’s the truth and I’m sticking to it.. if you want to know what “PayPerPlay” is, then click the linked words.

Hope you enjoy the gifs.

Well bookmark this site because it should prove very useful if you are new to your computer and the internet or perhaps you have a friend or work colleague who is new, you can send them here to.. “The Video Class” by Ian Stewart

Some of the subjects covered are from very basic computer knowledge such as how to copy and paste to more advanced things like doing a system restore on your PC.

I know Ian will be adding to the content of the site but he is also very happy for people to suggest a topic if there is a subject not covered yet.

Ian is from the UK and he really is a very nice chap, very helpful, he has spent a fair amount of time trying to help me with such projects as getting a contact form correct for my blog, all without being asked, so thanks Ian.

He and I met via FriendsWin, the new kid on the block of Social Networking with a difference, the difference being video networking, video resume, video dating and much more planned, also, people get paid to bring others in, its kinda like MySpace on steroids. Just through networking on FriendsWin I have met many great people all willing to help others in their online endeavours, such as Ian.

I hope you or your friends will find this site useful but one thing…. don’t forget to take your shiny red apple for the teacher :)

Stand by your beds, this is a long one!!

I had to write something about this new idea when it came my way for a couple of reasons, yes I want to recommend this because it may make me some money but also because of the situation that A LOT of people do find themselves in nowadays and that is having no form of credit and THAT my friend, I can speak about from a very personal perspective, because I have been there, done that, got the TShirt, had to sell it to eat…. you know the rest…

“But why” I hear you ask “does she mention marriage in her title?”

Well I will tell you…

Gonna get a wee bit personal with you here.. my marriage broke up almost two years ago now and no it was not for the reason I am about to share with you.. in fact I’m not about to share with you too much, not sure we know each other well enough yet LOL – anyway.. during the last troubled years of my marriage we were also in financial trouble, which just seemed to get worse and worse no matter which way we turned.. isn’t life just like that?, wouldn’t a marriage going wrong and all that comes along with that be bad enough? no, apparently not, “Life” sometimes likes to mix things up even more as it did with us..

Our financial situation got so bad that we lost the marital home, it was repossessed – we both came out of that marriage with, er, umm, let me think.. I was going to say nothing but that’s not true, we have a beautiful son together so I would not ever regret the union but that was it.. oh but wait, silly me, I forgot, we also came out of that marriage with ‘BAD CREDIT’…

Well as most of you probably know, one of the things bad credit means is no credit cards, no way of paying for most things, not unless merchants take cash and when I really started to get into working online I quickly found, if I didn’t have a PayPal account or a Major credit card or both then it was almost impossible to pay for the few things I could afford to start to grow my business.

That changed for me when I stumbled across “cashplus” which is by the Post Office (UK) and they have a pre-paid credit card, issued by Master Card… but its not really a credit card because there is no “credit” it’s like a pay-as-you-go phone – with this card you can only spend what you have already pre-loaded onto the card, which means, there are no credit checks on a person and anyone over the age of 18 can get one (and of course your not going to get into further debt with this).

What a fantastic idea and I have had that card now for almost two years and I can use it anywhere you would normally use a Master Card.. bloody marvellous… so anywho…

That brings me to my main point (thank **** for that you say LOL )..

Just like I thought “CashPlus” was and is a brilliant idea, another one has come along called “MobillCash” which I also think is a stonking good idea…. and hey if I can also make a bit of loose change out of it too, that’s a bonus!

This is simple, merchants can sign-up to this and start to accept payments for “whatever” via a persons mobile phone (cell phone to my American friends) and they have no problem doing that simply because the phones’ service provider will guarantee the payment…

Merchant happy, customer happy, transaction over – sweet!

This has been in testing for a year with fantastic results and some of the major phone providers around the world have come on board. Providers like:

  • Orange
  • “3″
  • Vodafone
  • O2
  • alltel
  • AT&T
  • And loads of others…

Now as, in most parts of the world, everyone and their granny has got a mobile phone, I am sure you can see the potential in this as another way we can pay for our “Stuff” AND as a merchant another way you can tap into a customer base you previously could not.. but you don’t have to take my word for it.. read this:

Untapped Market

Q: How many mobile phones are in the world?

A: The subscriber count reached 2.7 billion by end of 2006, and reached 3 billion by July 2007, faster than expected. Around 80% of the world’s population enjoys mobile phone coverage as of 2006. This figure is expected to increase to 90% by the year 2010.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_phone

So.. do you have something to sell online? Well how about giving your customers another way to pay for things, especially those who do not have a PayPal account or a credit or even debit card, there are so many reasons why people find themselves in those situations and most of them are not for any “Bad” reason at all.. trust me, I know from personal experience.. they may well be more sorted financially now but because of their past financial history they can’t pay for things in this modern world.. so give them another option…

I just read back over all of this and boy I have gone on a lot on this one haven’t I? ok sorry about that.. as you get to know me more you will see, I do have a tendency to ramble, I am working on it honest injuns… but because I have well and truly prattled on this time I won’t go into any more detail here… if you want to know all the ‘nuts’ and ‘bolts’ of this, just go to one of these two banner links:

If you have “Stuff” to sell, then go here:

MobillCash Merchant Signup

And if you do not have anything to sell but you would like to do what I do and make a bit of money out of this then go here:

MobillCash Affiliate Signup

Affilliates get paid on merchants they bring in and if they refer another affiliate they get paid on the merchants those people bring in as well, so an affilliate gets paid on two tiers.

Thanks if you made it all the way through this article, you deserve a medal and just as soon as I get some, you will be the first to know..

Just a quick post about this VERY useful tool that someone told me about a few weeks ago and I have been using it ever since.

I am new to html but I am getting there, I now normally know when I have made a mistake and how to put it right (but please realise, I don’t do anything complicated YET! but watch out world when I’ve done with my lurnin I will go nuts with my new found knowledge - that will be about the time of our grandchildrens grandchildren by the way).

Anyway, this is the link to the HTML School:

HTML School

You will see lots of useful headings on the left hand side but what I really love about this is for instance, on the page you should land on, “HTML Links” if you click on the red underlined title of ‘create hyperlinks’ you then get a new page come up which is split screen.. it shows some examples with the html of the example on the left screen and the actual thing you get on the right hand side.

All I do with this is, I go to a free space on the left, I put in what I think the code needs to be for what I want (using their example to work from) I then click the “Edit the text and click me” button at the top and voila, my project appears also on the right hand side.. so I can check what I get with the html still visible on the left, I can see what is wrong then and keep playing with the code on the left and clicking that old button until I get it right.. easy peasy, all I do then is just copy the code on the left and go place it wherever I need it.

You will see from the index on the left that html school covers a ton of things, all using this nifty Editor and I have found I have learnt a lot already and do not always need this tool now BUT when I go getting all too big for my boots and something won’t load properly or whatever, then I do find myself back there, putting in the code and low and behold, it is then obvious what the tiny little mistake is that I made.

I hope this helps some of you guys out there too.

Sue
